Hadith 1536

It was narrated from Mujammi’ bin Jariyah Al-Ansari that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Your brother Najashi has died, so stand and pray for him.” So we formed two rows behind him.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ، عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ، عَنْ مُجَمِّعِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَصَففنَا خَلْفَهُ صَفَّيْنِ ‏.‏
