Hadith 3538

Narrated Jabir:

The Prophet said, "Name yourselves after me, but do not call yourselves by my Kuniya."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي، وَلاَ تَكْتَنُوا بِكُنْيَتِي ‏"‏
